Dubai's largest air show-2017 opens in Dubai

Today in Dubai launched a five-day show dedicated to aircraft - Dubai Air Show-2017.

The Dubai International Air Show opened today, November 12, 2017, in Dubai.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai, officially opened the exhibition, and then visited the stands and talked with exhibitors.

This year's event featured more than 1,200 exhibitors. It is expected that during the five days of the show 72.5 thousand guests and specialists in the field of aircraft will visit.

During the first day of work, presentations of Emirates, Boeing, Airbus, Boom Supersonic, and the UAE Ministry of Defense are expected.

This year Russian companies take an active part in the Dubai Air Show-2017. Thus, the Rosoboronexport company, a subsidiary of Rostec, presents a Russian exposition with a demonstration of military equipment.

For the first time, the Russian Knights Russian Air Group on Dubai Airshow will fly up into the sky of Dubai on the Su-30SM and Su-35 fighters. In addition, samples of the Su-35, Be-200 and Sukhoi Business Jet exhibited at the event.

The Russian delegation is also represented by the General Director of Rosoboronexport, Alexander Mikheev, his deputy Sergei Goreslavsky, and Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin, who presented the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi with an exposition of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC).

In addition, some Russian manufacturers are present at the exhibition. The Russian company Skat Systems presents two main models of unmanned aerial vehicles - the S 640 drone, which set a world record by flying around Everest, and the X-27 Avatar. As the head of the company Sergey Belyushkin told Russian Emirates, Avatar has a unique opportunity to carry out vertical take-off and transport a large amount of payload. It is applicable in both civil and military aviation. In Dubai, Skat Systems is looking for emergency partners, construction and oil and gas companies.

  • The UAE Ministry of Defense announced the conclusion of transactions in the amount of 6.5 billion dirhams ($ 1.8 billion), including the modernization of 80 F-16 aircraft.
