Gold coin Damas hit the "Guinness Book of Records"

The leading emirate jewelry company Damas LLC produced the largest coin medallion in the world, weighing 185.88 kg and costing 1 million dirhams (US $ 271739).

The giant silver medallion coin, covered with a thick layer of 22 karat gold, was specially made in Damas workshops to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the prestigious Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for achievements in medicine.

The obverse of the giant coin depicts Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum himself, the deputy ruler of Dubai, the Minister of Finance and Industry of the UAE, the chairman of the Dubai Health Committee and the patron of awards for achievements in medicine, and on the back is the logo created for the 10th anniversary of the award .

The production of silver coins, with a diameter of 1 meter and a thickness of 2.3 cm, was entrusted to the best Damas master jewelers and engravers. In order to carve a coin from a piece of pure silver, Damas workshops had to create special machines and other technological equipment. With this medallion coin, Damas wanted to pay tribute to His Highness Sheikh Hamdan for his many years of contribution and support to the country's medical sector.

The initial weight of the coin was 195.2 kg, after the engraving, its weight decreased slightly. Next, the coin was covered with a layer of 22 carat gold. This medallion was recognized as the "Largest coin" in the world, by experts of the Guinness Book of Records. Today, Damas jewelry company operates in 18 countries and owns more than 500 stores in the Middle East, India and North Africa.
