New Generation Radar Coming to Dubai Police Service

Dubai police have demonstrated a new mobile radar that will be installed in patrol cars and will automatically detect vehicle speeding.

The new radar, which will be equipped with patrol cars of the Dubai police, as well as cars without special identification marks, is demonstrated at the Gitex Technology Week 2015. This mobile radar works autonomously, like stationary radars. Leaving on this or that street, it is enough for the policeman to set the value of the maximum permissible speed on it, the radar will do the rest.

Lieutenant Colonel Hussein Ahmad bin Ghalita, director of the Traffic Technologies Department of the Dubai Police, said: “The main value of the new radar technology is that it will change the driving culture. Now people, knowing where the radars are installed, slow down only near them. We want people to abide by speed limits all the time. "

The radar camera is mounted on the dashboard, and the sensor and flash are mounted on the car body behind the license plate. The measurement of the speed of the intruder is determined based on the speed of the police car. The violation is recorded and information about it is sent to the database automatically.
