Dubai Metro Unveils Network Development Plans

Dubai Roads and Transport Committee (RTA) has completed the development of a project to expand the Dubai Metro network. Already at the beginning of next year, construction work will begin on the extension of both branches - "green" and "red".

So, on the “red” branch, a new Mirdiff station will appear, following Rashidiy, the “green” will be extended to the Academic City area from the existing Al Jaddaf station. Both stations will be commissioned by 2020.

It is worth recalling that the Dubai Metro began serving passengers on September 9, 2009. Today, the total length of lines is 75 km, which is an absolute record for the automatic metro in the world.
