Famous pianist Ramzi Yassa will perform in the small hall of the Dubai Opera on November 21 as part of the Music in the Studio program. A pianist of French-Egyptian descent studied in Russia at the Moscow State Conservatory, speaks Russian and is well known to Russian fans of classical music.
Laureate of many prestigious international competitions - the Paris competition named after Margarita Long and Jacques Thibault, the Moscow name Tchaikovsky, Yassa successfully combines concert activities with pedagogy, as well as being a piano professor at Ecole Normale - Alfred Cortot's Higher School of Music in Paris.
He gives concerts in many of the largest concert halls in the world, collaborates with leading musicians and conductors such as Vladimir Ashkenazi, Yehudi Menuhin, Charles Groves, Zubin Meta, Alexander Sladkovsky and Horst Stein, as well as with leading world orchestras.
Iassa has recorded many albums, including Beethoven’s piano concert disc, becoming the first pianist of Arab origin to release such recordings. Since 2015, he became the artistic director of the Dinard festival in France.
