Sheikh from the United Arab Emirates allocated $ US 150 million for research

The ruler of one of the emirates sent $ US 150 million to research at a ward university.

Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, ruler of the emirate of Sharjah, UAE, and president of the American University of Sharjah (AUS), will send 550 million dirhams ($ US 150 million) to research at AUS over the next five years.

The announcement was made during a speech delivered by the ruler of the emirate at a graduation ceremony at the university.

Sheikh Sultan said that the university is on track to realize its strategic goals in the field of scientific research and supports the work of members of the academic community.

The university recently launched a bachelor's program in psychology, a specialized program in data science, and is preparing to open a new building for an engineering college in the next academic semester.

“All that we have achieved to this day sets American University of Sharjah apart and builds its reputation in our region and beyond. This spring, the university was invited to join the Bloomberg Experiential Learning Partner program, the first in the Persian Gulf and the Middle East among 35 leading international universities, "said Sheikh Sultan.
