Dubai invites foreign doctors to work

Now, foreign health professionals will be able to obtain temporary licenses for work in Dubai themselves.

The Dubai Health Administration has announced the launch of a license that allows international doctors, dentists and practitioners in the field of alternative medicine to enter the UAE to work in one of the three institutions located in the Dubai Healthcare City Free Zone (DHCC). It is also allowed to work in several institutions at once.

Prior to this, doctors could temporarily work in the free zone under a three-month license with the possibility of extension for another three months. At the same time, clinics received licenses, and now specialists will be able to obtain permits on their own.

Doctors will be able to work with the new license for two years from the moment of obtaining permission and concluding an agreement with the employer. They will also be able to fund their families in the country during the license period.

Earlier this month, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and ruler of Dubai, announced a strategy to improve the quality of life in Dubai. One of its goals is to transform the medical system of the emirate.

Medical professionals can apply for a license from January 20 on the Masaar e-services portal. Until January 31, special license conditions will apply.

A license to attract international healthcare professionals to Dubai is being introduced ahead of Arab Health, the largest exhibition for healthcare professionals in the Middle East.
