One of the most famous hotels in the UAE will no longer be called Hilton

One of the most famous and oldest hotels in Abu Dhabi refuses Hilton in its name.

Hilton Abu Dhabi, which opened in the Corniche area of the capital of the United Arab Emirates 45 years ago, changes its operator and name from January 1. It is not yet known which company will take the hotel into management. The same fate awaits the Hilton in Al Ain.

"Hilton has been managing these facilities ... for 45 years, serving local and international guests all this time," said William Costley, vice president of operations on the Arabian Peninsula and Turkey.

"We believe that we have provided wonderful experiences for millions of our guests. Although we will no longer manage these hotels, we are pleased to welcome guests to one of our 20 other hotels currently open in the UAE," he said.

Also, the further fate of the hotel staff was not disclosed, but Hilton emphasizes that he appreciates the members of his team, and employees can apply for a transfer to one of the other network facilities.

Hilton Abu Dhabi was opened by Sheikh Zayed on May 23, 1973. It was not the first hotel in the capital, but became the first hotel facility from the international chain and a pioneer in terms of cuisine. The hotel also played a role in the development of the entertainment life of the city - many events were organized here and world stars performed.

In the 1990s, the hotel was modernized, the Hiltonia Beach Club and a new wing with rooms were opened.

Over the past few months, several hotels in the UAE hotel market have decided to rebrand at once. In June, it became known that the Hyatt Capital Gate in Abu Dhabi would be renamed the Andaz Hotel. A month later, Al Habtoor Group announced that the three hotels in Dubai will now be named Hilton.

In Abu Dhabi, Hilton plans new projects on the islands of Yas and Saadiyat.
