Air Arabia announces launch of flights from Sharjah to Moscow and Yekaterinburg

Air Arabia and the Sharjah Tourism Department have announced the start of flights from Sharjah International Airport to Moscow and Yekaterinburg. In addition, the airline announced plans to increase the frequency of flights from the Russian capital from three to five per week, starting from December 28, 2011. This was reported by representatives of the delegation who came to Moscow specifically to discuss issues of cooperation between Russia and the emirate of Sharjah with Russian dignitaries, diplomats, the UAE ambassador to the Russian Federation, as well as representatives of the trade and tourism sectors. The delegation was led by Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Kassimi, chairman of the Sharjah Tourism Department, and Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Thani, head of Air Arabia.

The first flights in the direction of Sharjah took place from Moscow on October 14, from Yekaterinburg on October 29, 2011. It is from these cities that the airline began its geography of flights to Russia. It should be noted that Moscow and Yekaterinburg are the fifth and sixth directions of the air carrier in the territory of the CIS countries and Russia.

Air Arabia planes operate flights from Sharjah International Airport to Moscow on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays, departing at 09.35 and arriving at Domodedovo Airport at 14.45. Return flights from Moscow are operated on the same days at 15.45 with arrival at Sharjah Airport at 20.50. Since December of this year, the frequency of Air Arabia flights to Moscow has increased to five.

Flights to Yekaterinburg are operated on Wednesdays and Saturdays with departure from Sharjah at 10.05 and with arrival at 16.50. Return flights from Yekaterinburg are operated on the same days at 17.50 with arrival at Sharjah Airport at 20.50.
